Wild harvested Cantharellus Cibarius (commonly known as yellow or golden chanterelle) are common in Eurasia, North and Central America and Africa. In central Europe (where much of our chanterelles are harvested) golden chanterelle are often found in clusters among beech forests. Dried chanterelles are a culinary delicacy in many of the world’s kitchens since many cultures claim to have used golden chanterelles for centuries. In Europe, chanterelles are commonly thumb size while North American chanterelles are much larger - often as big or bigger than a fist.
